As one of Preston's foremost cycling clubs, we have a tradition of providing cycling opportunities for people of all ages for nearly 60 years. AVIVA TOUR OF BRITAIN STAGE 2 - Clitheroe to Colne
Monday 7th September 2015 sees Stage Two of the 2015 Tour of Britain Cycle Race take place within the Ribble Valley and Pendle districts for a short, sharp stage with plenty of climbing through the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A winding route gives plenty of chances for spectators to enjoy the Start in Clitheroe, the action out on route and make it to the Finish in Colne.
A group of RVCRC members, led by Mike Smith, will be heading out to watch the Tour of Britain (Stage 2) on Monday 7th September 2015.
They will catch up with the race in a number of vantage points along the way. The itinerary is as follows:

RIDE TO YORK VILLAGE (approx. 50 mins.)
LEAD CARS DUE 11.38 RIDERS 11.53
RIDE TO PASTURE LANE (approx. 60 mins)
LEAD CARS DUE 14.08 RIDERS 14.23
RIDE TO COLNE TOWN CENTRE (approx. 15 mins)
LEAD CARS DUE 15.08 RIDERS 15.23
1. Pasture Lane is a steep climb 0.8 miles long between Barrowford and Roughlee
2. The official ToB website says that no bikes will be allowed at the finish. However, secure parking is available at a cost of £5
3. There are two large screens, where you can view the race, in the centre of Colne.
NLTTA Combined Clubs 25 mile TT
The first rider starts at 8.01 am and the HQ (Headquarters) is Kirkland Village Hall, which will be open from 7 am. Please let the RVCRC Club Secretary (Matt Stell) know, by Monday 7th September at the latest, if you would like to ride this event.
Riders cannot enter the event on the day!
The club will pay the NLTTA event entry fees for any current RVCRC members.
