I joined the Ribble Valley in 1993. I started out as a social member as my then boyfriend, now my husband (David) was an active member. I had always had a bicycle from being a child but had never seriously cycled. I met my husband David in 1990 and therein started my association with the Ribble Valley. I went from watching David Road Race and Time Trial to doing a little bit of cycling. Back in those days I couldn’t go further than 5 miles without having to have a ‘coffee break’! Over the years I became hooked – on cycling that is, and I now own a number of bikes to cover all the differing areas of cycling I enjoy. I ride regularly on Club rides, thoroughly enjoy mountain biking but probably the cycling I enjoy the most is my touring…..just get the bike out, put the panniers on (not forgetting the tent) and off we go!
In 2002 I was appointed Vice Treasurer of the Club and have held the position of Treasurer since 2003. I am also an official district timekeeper for Time Trials and assist the Club in the organisation and delivery of a number of events.
