As an established cycling club, some of our members compete in Road Races across the North West.

Training rides are organised in and around the Preston area to help build fitness and bike handling skills to enable you to have the best possible preparation for Road Racing.

The majority of the races across Great Britain are on the British Cycling website. If you wish to compete in Road Races you need to have British Cycling 3rd party insurance and a British Cycling Road Racing licence. All the info can be found on their website:

Cycling Development North West is an organisation that puts on Road Races in the North West for all levels (category's). They also organise the Thursday night Criterium series on Preston Sports Arena, Tom Benson Way, Cottam.

Circuit Races:

Tuesday night criteriums are on at Lancaster Sports Centre, Salt Ayre, Lancaster. These are jointly organised by Salt Ayre Cog Set, Lune RCC, Lancaster Cycling Club, Lakes Road Club, Kent Valley Road Club, Herbalife/Wheelbase and teamwallis-CHH in conjunction with Lancaster City Council.

Welcome to Season 2012:

First race of the season will be:

26/02/12: Clayton Spring Classic Handicap Road Race E/1/2/3/4/W

This event is open to all category’s. The race is run as a handicap. Each category of rider sets off at timed intervals. 4th Cat are the first off, then 3rd Cat's, 2nd Cat's etc. with the Elite riders setting off last. All groups do the same distance and its first to the line wins. 55miles.

04/03/12: CDNW RR League Event 1: Pimbo. 2 Races are being run. 3/4 Category and E/1/2/3.

Elites, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Category race is on first: 9.30am: 50miles

3rd & 4th Category race is on second: 12.30am: 40miles

10/03/12: SACA/Wallis Cycles Spring Series Event 1. 1st Event of a series. Salt Ayre Cycle Track, Lancaster.

E/1/2/3/4: 2.30pm: 1hour & 5laps:
